Job Description

Planting to harvest, a maize and soya farm near Welkom runs on good tractor drivers. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed

Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely

What you need

Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
Available to live on or near the farm
Basic understanding of implements and settings
Reliable and sober on duty
Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons

Farm housing with water and electricity

How to apply

Make sure the role, the hours and working in Welkom really suit you before you apply.
Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: tractor or spray course certificates plus a farmer's reference letter with phone number.
Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 10 working days.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Welkom; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

How to stand out

Mention GPS or auto-steer if you have used it. Modern grain farms struggle to find operators who know it.
A reference from a previous farmer is gold. Ask for it before you leave any farm job.
