Tractor Driver (Grain Farm)

Planting to harvest, a sugar cane estate near Brits runs on good tractor drivers. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The site is in Brits; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
• Record hours, fuel and fields worked on the job card
• Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
• Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed
• Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
• Mix and apply sprays exactly as the farm manager prescribes

• Can read job cards and spray instructions
• At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
• Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
• Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons
• Available to live on or near the farm
• Reliable and sober on duty

• Basic mechanical skills
• Experience with GPS guidance or auto-steer

• Training on new machinery
• Harvest bonus at season end
• Farm housing with water and electricity
• Overtime paid during planting and harvest

• A reference from a previous farmer is gold. Ask for it before you leave any farm job.
• List the machines you can drive and the implements you have used. Farmers want to know if you can plant, spray or harvest on day one.
