Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract) – Fixed-Term

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a national retail chain head office in White River. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a national retail chain head office in White River. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
