Transport Controller (Long Haul Fleet) – Experienced

You'll plan the loads and watch the trucks for a bus and coach operator in George, keeping every trip on time. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a bus and coach operator on the George side of Western Cape. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries

• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Matric
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office

• Knowledge of cross-border documentation
• Logistics or supply chain certificate
• Transport management system (TMS) experience

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Growth to transport manager
• Office-based work with a steady roster

• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
