Job Description

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a road freight company in Tzaneen. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a road freight company in Tzaneen. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route

What you need

Good with Excel and email
Matric
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Calm and decisive when things go wrong
Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
