Job Description

Here is work for a technician who can find a leak fast and gas a system up properly, with the supermarket refrigeration contractor in Cape Town CBD. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Cape Town CBD (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

Recover refrigerant into cylinders and log every kilogram used
Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls
Install split units, cassettes and ducted systems, including brazing and vacuum work
Complete service reports on a tablet and have the site manager sign them
Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes

Must-haves

Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate
Comfortable on roofs and ladders in summer heat
SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants
Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate
Code 08 driver's licence, since the job is mostly on the road
Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits

Helpful, not essential

Transport refrigeration units on trucks and trailers
Building management system alarm handling
Experience with VRF systems or chillers
