Job Description

Crops do not wait, and a vegetable farm near Pretoria East needs extra hands this season. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Pretoria East, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

The work, day to day

Move irrigation pipes and check drippers for blockages
Weed beds by hand or with a hoe
Keep your picking card or tag count for daily pay
Wash hands and use the field toilets for food safety
Clean and store picking bags, ladders and secateurs
Follow the re-entry times after spraying, as the signs show

What you need

Physically fit for bending, lifting and climbing ladders
Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain
Available for the full harvest season
Valid ID or work permit
Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
Willing to start at sunrise

Helpful, not essential

Living on or near the farm
Tractor or quad bike experience
