Job Description

Harvest time on a commercial seedling nursery near Secunda means early mornings, full crates and paid overtime. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a commercial seedling nursery on the Secunda side of Mpumalanga.

The work, day to day

Fill crates or bins and carry them to the collection point
Move irrigation pipes and check drippers for blockages
Tie up tomato and pepper plants in tunnels
Prune and thin fruit trees and vines to the farm's method
Follow the re-entry times after spraying, as the signs show
Plant seedlings in rows at the spacing shown

You'll need

Willing to start at sunrise
Available for the full harvest season
Physically fit for bending, lifting and climbing ladders
Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain

Nice if you have

Tractor or quad bike experience
Pruning experience on vines or fruit trees
