Turndown Attendant (Evening Shift) – Entry Level

You'll clean and set up guest rooms at a conference hotel in Rustenburg to a checklist standard. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Rustenburg-based, with most of your time spent at a conference hotel.

• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
• Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
• Do evening turndowns with chocolates and curtain closing.
• Update room status on the housekeeping app or board after each room.
• Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.

• Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• Grade 10 or higher
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift

• A supervisor course or time spent running a floor
• Chemical handling training

• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
• Meals on duty
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Monthly award for best room scores

• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
