VAT Specialist (Import and Export)

A mid-tier accounting firm in Ballito needs a tax practitioner who knows eFiling inside out. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The site is in Ballito; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
• Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
• Keep client tax files complete for five years
• Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
• Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
• Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients

• Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
• Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
• Comfortable handling tax season overtime
• Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
• Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
• At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience

• Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
• Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare

• CPD hours paid by the firm
• Paid controlling body subscription
• Flexible hours outside filing season
