VAT Specialist (Import and Export)

You'll keep clients in good standing with SARS at a small tax practice in Upington. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Upington-based, with most of your time spent at a small tax practice.

• Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
• Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
• Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
• Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
• Keep client tax files complete for five years

• Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
• Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
• At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
• Neat, careful and organised with client documents

• Paid controlling body subscription
• Flexible hours outside filing season
• CPD hours paid by the firm
• Bonus at the end of filing season

• Make sure your own tax affairs are up to date, as some firms check your compliance status before they appoint.
• List your tax practitioner number and controlling body in the first line of your CV.
