Waiter / Waitress (Evening Shift)

This is a floor job at a beachfront cocktail bar in Centurion where your tips follow your service. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Centurion, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.

• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience

• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills

• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
