Waiter / Waitress (Evening Shift)

Good service at a hotel restaurant in Sandton starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Sandton. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
• Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.

• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience

• Responsible Service of Alcohol training
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
