Welding Robot Operator (Body Shop) – Fixed-Term

The automotive component manufacturer in Johannesburg CBD needs operators who follow the standard work and speak up when something is wrong. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Johannesburg CBD-based, with most of your time spent at an automotive component manufacturer.

• Record production counts and scrap on the shift board
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Take part in kaizen ideas to improve your station
• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
• Load and unload robotic welding cells safely
• Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time

• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift

• Forklift licence for material handling
• Previous experience in an automotive plant
• NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA

• Learnership opportunities toward an artisan trade
• Shift allowance and paid overtime
• Transport from nearby townships on some routes
