Window Cleaner (Rope Access Assistant)

Industrial cleaners are always in demand; this crew works a newly built office block in Mahikeng. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Mahikeng; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Shampoo carpets and upholstery with an extraction machine
• Lock out machines before cleaning, as the safety file requires
• Test sanitiser strength with test strips and record the reading
• Strip down and wash production equipment after the last run
• Clean drains and grease traps in commercial kitchens

• Physically strong for wet, heavy work
• Willing to work nights and weekends when plants shut down
• Grade 10 or better; you must read chemical labels and safety data sheets
• Reliable, as crews are small and each person counts
• Not scared of heights for window or rope crews
• Able to pass a medical fitness check for plant work

• Pest control registration under the fumigation rules
• A Code 8 licence to drive the crew bakkie

• Night-shift and standby allowances
• Higher hourly rate than standard cleaning
• Paid training on machines and chemicals
• Full PPE: waterproof suits, boots, goggles and respirators

• Put the machines and chemicals you have used at the top of your CV. Industrial cleaning companies hire on skills, not just willingness.
