Wine Steward (Fine Dining) – Experienced

This is a floor job at a family steakhouse in eMalahleni where your tips follow your service. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is eMalahleni-based, with most of your time spent at a family steakhouse. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.

• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays

• Responsible Service of Alcohol training
• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills

• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence
• Staff meal on every shift
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
