Workshop Controller (Service Department)

Location: George, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Handle complaints calmly and find a fix with the workshop manager
• Look up part numbers in the electronic parts catalogue using the VIN
• Book in vehicles, walk around with the customer and note existing damage
• Open job cards and explain the work and cost before it starts
• Order stock and special parts, and follow up on back orders
• Pick, pack and issue parts to technicians against job cards
• Load bookings in the dealer management system

• Good working knowledge of car parts and basic vehicle systems
• Computer literate with a dealer management system or parts software
• At least 2 years as a service advisor, parts interpreter or in a similar counter role
• Calm and polite with customers, even when they are upset
• Accurate when capturing part numbers and prices
• Matric, plus a motor industry background

• Experience in a customer satisfaction survey-driven dealership
• Some mechanical training or a trade background
• Brand-specific warranty system training
