Yellow Machine Mechanic (Earthmoving Plant)

Keep trucks on the road and earning at the agricultural equipment dealer in Bloemfontein. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at an agricultural equipment dealer in Bloemfontein. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage

• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate

• Brand-specific heavy vehicle courses
• Auto electrical skills
• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles

• Overtime available most weeks
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop

• List the truck and engine types you have worked on, including electronic systems. Fleet managers screen for those.
• Your Code 14 is a big plus. Put it right below your name, not at the bottom of the CV.
