Access Control Officer (Grade C)

The gate at a private school campus in Centurion is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Location: Centurion, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• Speaks and writes basic English
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Clean criminal record
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
