Access Control Officer (Grade C)

You'll control who comes in and out of an industrial park in George, and log every visitor properly. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is an industrial park on the George side of Western Cape.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• Clean criminal record
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• Put your PSIRA number and grade right under your name. Recruiters check it on the PSIRA system before they even phone you.
