Access Control Officer (Grade C)

You'll control who comes in and out of a private school campus in Middelburg (MP), and log every visitor properly. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Middelburg (MP) (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Alert, polite and firm with the public

• Previous experience at a similar site type
• Firefighting or evacuation training
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Provident fund contributions
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
