Job Description

Shrinkage hurts every building-supplies store; in Secunda, you would be the one tracking it down. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Secunda, Mpumalanga, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

The work, day to day

Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
Share trends with the store manager each week

You'll need

Discreet, observant and honest
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Good report writing

Helpful, not essential

Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
Retail loss prevention course

On offer

Retail trading hours, no night shift in most stores
Plain clothes work (no uniform in detective roles)
