Access Control Officer (Grade C) – Experienced

The gate at a construction yard in Polokwane is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Polokwane-based, with most of your time spent at a construction yard.

• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty

• Speaks and writes basic English
• Clean criminal record
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Firefighting or evacuation training
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Stable long-term site contracts
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
