Job Description

A faith-based independent school in Montague Gardens needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Montague Gardens. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans

You'll need

A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance

Nice if you have

Honours degree in your subject or in education management
Experience with remedial or inclusive education
