Accounts Clerk (Property Management) – Permanent

A small accounting practice in Johannesburg CBD needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a small accounting practice on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng.

• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days

• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Matric with Accounting

• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices

• Say how far you take the books, for example "to trial balance" or "to management accounts"; it tells recruiters your level.
