Job Description

A family-owned manufacturer in Paarl needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a family-owned manufacturer on the Paarl side of Western Cape. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation

Must-haves

At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
Understanding of VAT input and output rules
Matric with Accounting
Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details

Nice if you have

Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
