Accounts Clerk (Property Management)

Every invoice, payment and bank line at this small accounting practice in Phalaborwa goes through your hands. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Phalaborwa-based, with most of your time spent at a small accounting practice. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days

• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• Matric with Accounting

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Office hours with no weekend work

• Name the accounting packages you use daily in your CV headline, such as "Sage Pastel Partner, Xero, Excel".
