Adult Literacy Facilitator (AET Level 1-4)

A public TVET college in Pietermaritzburg needs a facilitator who can teach, assess and keep the paperwork audit-ready. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Pietermaritzburg-based, with most of your time spent at a public TVET college.

• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments

• Good report writing and record keeping
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Own transport for training at client sites

• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
• Trade test certificate for artisan training posts

• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Travel allowance or company car for site training
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
