Adult Literacy Facilitator (AET Level 1-4) – Experienced

Stand in front of a class of adults at a mining skills centre in Pietermaritzburg and make the work make sense. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a mining skills centre in Pietermaritzburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system

• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Good report writing and record keeping
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts

• Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education
• Trade test certificate for artisan training posts

• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Travel allowance or company car for site training
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
