Adult Literacy Facilitator (AET Level 1-4)

Stand in front of a class of adults at an accredited training provider in Roodepoort and make the work make sense. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Roodepoort, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks

• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
• Good report writing and record keeping
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field

• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Paid re-registration with your SETA

• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
• For TVET posts, attach your teaching qualification too, as colleges score it during shortlisting.
