Adult Literacy Facilitator (AET Level 1-4)

A manufacturing plant training room in Sandton needs a facilitator who can teach, assess and keep the paperwork audit-ready. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Sandton, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports

• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Good report writing and record keeping
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts

• Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education
• Trade test certificate for artisan training posts
• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle

• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Travel allowance or company car for site training

• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
• Say which unit standards or occupational qualifications you're registered for; this decides where you can be used.
