Afrikaans First Additional Language Teacher – Fixed-Term

Your subject, your classroom and learners who need you to believe in them: that's this rural combined school in Germiston. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Germiston. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams

• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice

• Coaching experience in a major school sport
• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
