After-Hours Office Cleaner – Fixed-Term

You'll keep a government office building in White River clean, stocked and fresh before the people arrive. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a government office building on the White River side of Mpumalanga. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Empty bins and take waste to the correct recycling or general skip
• Set up and clear boardrooms before and after meetings
• Clean the kitchenette, wash cups and wipe down the fridge and microwave
• Report broken fittings, leaks or empty stock to the site supervisor
• Wipe desks, door handles, lift buttons and light switches
• Sign the ablution checklist on the back of the door after each clean

• Able to stand, bend and walk for a full shift
• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks
• Clean criminal record for most corporate sites
• Able to start early, often 05:00 or 06:00
• Comfortable using cleaning chemicals safely with gloves

• Training on a floor polisher or scrubber machine
• Supervisory experience for team leader posts

• Permanent contract once the site contract is secured
• UIF and paid leave under the cleaning sector rules
• Paid overtime for weekend deep cleans
• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided

• Ask a former supervisor if you can put their number on your CV. Cleaning contractors almost always phone a reference.
• Mention any machines you can use, like a scrubber or polisher. Machine cleaners are harder to find and often get picked first.
