After-Hours Office Cleaner

Early starts, clear routines and a steady contract at an university campus in Worcester. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Worcester (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Mix cleaning chemicals at the dilution shown on the label, never by guesswork
• Empty bins and take waste to the correct recycling or general skip
• Set up and clear boardrooms before and after meetings
• Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors following the daily cleaning schedule
• Clean the kitchenette, wash cups and wipe down the fridge and microwave
• Run a scrubber-dryer machine on large tiled areas
• Refill toilet paper, hand towel and soap dispensers

• Able to stand, bend and walk for a full shift
• Comfortable using cleaning chemicals safely with gloves
• Able to start early, often 05:00 or 06:00
• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks
• Honest, because you work around laptops and personal items
• Grade 10 or higher

• Chemical handling training from a supplier or contractor
• Tea service or kitchen experience
• Supervisory experience for team leader posts

• Paid overtime for weekend deep cleans
• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided
• UIF and paid leave under the cleaning sector rules

• Arrive neat and early for the interview. It is a small test of how you will arrive for a 05:00 shift.
• List each site you have cleaned (office, mall, school) and how long you stayed. Contractors want people who stick with a site.
