Estate Housekeeper (Large Home)

You'll keep a retired couple's cottage in Worcester clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in Worcester. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation

• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised

• A driver's licence for school lifts
• Cooking experience with family meals
• Non-smoker

• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
