Aftercare Supervisor (Primary School)

You'll care for and teach young children at a workplace day care centre in Tembisa, from nappies to first letters. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll report in Tembisa. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
• Run morning ring with songs, weather and counting
• Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
• Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
• Chat to parents at drop-off and pick-up about how the day went

• Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
• Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
• ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
• Matric

• Put your ECD level and first aid certificate in the first lines of your CV; creches check these before anything else.
• Apply for the Form 30 check early, as it can take weeks and many creches won't appoint without it.
