Aftercare Supervisor (Primary School)

You'll care for and teach young children at a private pre-primary school in Vanderbijlpark, from nappies to first letters. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Vanderbijlpark. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
• Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
• Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic
• Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
• Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe

• Matric
• Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
• ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
• Paediatric first aid certificate
• Warm, patient and energetic with small children
• Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance

• Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
• Speak more than one home language of the children you'll teach

• Short holiday closures over December and Easter
• Lunch provided on school days
• Reduced fees for your own child

• Apply for the Form 30 check early, as it can take weeks and many creches won't appoint without it.
• Put your ECD level and first aid certificate in the first lines of your CV; creches check these before anything else.
