Agricultural Diesel Mechanic (Tractors & Harvesters) – Experienced

You'll service and repair heavy diesel vehicles for the long-distance trucking fleet in Soweto. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Location: Soweto, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck

• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines

• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles
• Brand-specific heavy vehicle courses

• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
• Overtime available most weeks
• Standby and call-out allowance
