Job Description

The residential aircon installer in Soweto needs an HVAC technician who knows both the electrical side and the refrigerant side. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Soweto-based, with most of your time spent at a residential aircon installer.

What your day looks like

Pressure test with nitrogen, pull a deep vacuum and charge with R410A, R32 or R134a
Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls
Complete service reports on a tablet and have the site manager sign them
Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes
Check chiller log sheets and water treatment on building service visits

What you need

Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate
Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits
Code 08 driver's licence, since the job is mostly on the road
At least 2 years servicing commercial or residential systems
Comfortable on roofs and ladders in summer heat
SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants

What's in it for you

Manufacturer training on new equipment ranges
Standby pay for weekend fridge breakdowns
Gauge manifold, vacuum pump and recovery unit issued to you
Company vehicle with a fitted tool rack

How to apply

Make sure the role, the hours and working in Soweto really suit you before you apply.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): a clear copy of your ID, refrigeration trade or occupational certificate plus SAQCC Gas card.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 8 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Soweto.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

How to stand out

Say which refrigerants and system types you have worked on. A recruiter for supermarket work wants to see CO2 or large rack systems.
Mention whether you are comfortable on standby. Most service jobs in this trade include it.
