Alarm Monitoring Controller (Night Shift)

You'll watch the screens and radios at a shopping mall security office in Centurion, and send help the moment something is wrong. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a shopping mall security office on the Centurion side of Gauteng.

• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement

• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts

• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• CCTV operator short course
• Call centre work in the past

• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Shift allowance for nights

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
