Tactical Response Officer (Night Shift)

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a farming district in Boksburg. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a farming district in Boksburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses

• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

• First-aid Level 2 or 3
• Advanced driving course

• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Danger and night allowances
• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Response vehicle and firearm provided

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
