Alarm Monitoring Controller (Night Shift)

You'll watch the screens and radios at an armed response control room in George, and send help the moment something is wrong. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in George. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians

• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• Matric
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher

• Shift allowance for nights
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software
• Path to senior controller or supervisor

• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
