Armed Escort Officer

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a farming district in Centurion. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Centurion, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses

• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• Advanced driving course
