Armed Patrol Driver (Suburban Area) – Permanent

You'll answer alarms across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Pinetown in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Pinetown; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates

• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts

• First-aid Level 2 or 3
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Danger and night allowances
• Regular refresher shooting practice

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Put your firearm competency and armed response course at the top. Without both, the CV is not read further.
