Armed Patrol Driver (Suburban Area)

When a panic button goes off in a mixed-use neighbourhood in Rustenburg, you are the one who arrives first. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Rustenburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room

• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving

• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors

• Danger and night allowances
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Group life cover through the provident fund

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Put your firearm competency and armed response course at the top. Without both, the CV is not read further.
