Armed Patrol Driver (Suburban Area)

You'll answer alarms across a farming district in Stellenbosch in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a farming district in Stellenbosch. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room

• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts

• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
• First-aid Level 2 or 3

• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Danger and night allowances

• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
