Armed Response Officer (Residential Patrols) – Immediate Start

You'll answer alarms across a business park in Benoni in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a business park on the Benoni side of Gauteng. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room

• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
• Advanced driving course

• Danger and night allowances

• Regular refresher shooting practice
