Job Description

You'll answer alarms across a farming district in Pietermaritzburg in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a farming district on the Pietermaritzburg side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details

What you need

Clean criminal record and no pending cases
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
At least 2 years in guarding or response
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts

Extra points for

First-aid Level 2 or 3
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
