Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a business park in Rosslyn. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in Rosslyn, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

Must-haves

PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Calm under pressure and physically fit

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
First-aid Level 2 or 3
Advanced driving course
