Site Security Officer (Construction Yard) – Experienced

The gate at a construction yard in Pretoria West is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Pretoria West, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed

• Clean criminal record
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Alert, polite and firm with the public

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Firefighting or evacuation training
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
